 | About me
I was born in 1991 in Romania and came to Canada with my parents when I was almost 10.
I started skating when I was 2, as my mother insisted on sports, since she was a speed skater herself. I started speed skating with the Toronto Speed Skating Club when I was 11. |
| I love school! My favorite subjects are History and French. Even though at the National Sport School we do not have History, I still love what we did last year in Toronto with Mr Koskins. I get along great with all my teachers and NSS and back in Toronto. Especially Mme. Dennis!
In my free time you will probably never find me at home. Some of my hobbies are training, playing tennis, skiing, running, playing guitar, hanging out with friends, drawing, and listening to music.
My favorite type of music is Rock. My favorite music group is Aerosmith. I look up to Steven Tyler and I think he is amazing. His music moves me and inspires me to achieve better things in life. | |
| | In my iTunes library you will also find the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, David Bowie, Eurythmics, Beatles, UB40, Dire Straits, Queen, Abba, The Who, New York Dolls, Sinead O’Conner, Rod Stewart, Cream, The Police, Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Credence Clearwater Revival, Jethro Tull and much more.
I also enjoy French music, as much as rock. My favorite singers are Joe Dassin, Edith Piaf and Patricia Kaas. Others I like are Charles Aznavour, Silvie Vartan, and Georges Brassens.
|
| I also like to watch movies with my parents. I like all Diane Keaton movies; Annie Hall, Something’s Gotta Give, etc. Other actors I like are Christopher Plummer, Julie Andrews, Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren.
I enjoy reading. I read only what I like. I can't read something that I'm forced to read, unless it looks interesting. I enjoy reading about fashion icons and how they achieved what they have today. ex. Ralph Lauren, Oscar De la Renta, Karl Lagerfeld, etc. Right now I am reading a book called 'How to get from where you are to where you want to be. The 25 principles of success.'by Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul. It's the best book ever! I recommend it to everyone!
I also read about art, and different cultures, and what signatures they signed their artwork, and sculptures. My dad got me into this stuff. He was a designer. Some of the books I liked most are ‘The Count of Monte Cristo”, and The Charlie Bone series.

| | In grade 4 and 5 I attended Rene Gordon E.S. I received the athletic award that year. I also received a French and music certificate.
In grade 6, I went to Denlow P.S, and that year I didn’t receive anything, because I was there only one year, but I introduced the Denlow Kids newsletter, and was the editor for it.
In grade 7 I came to WJHS, and at the end of the year I received the PhysEd certificate, and a Music certificate. In grade 8 I received the Visual Arts of Exceptional Achievement certificate, PhysEd certificate, and the honor roll award. That award goes to anyone who achieved an 80% and above throughout the year. I had an average of 89% that year. Last year it was more difficult, but I aimed for higher marks, so I can get a scholarship, and go to the University of Calgary, and speed skate.

| Two years ago, in grade 9, I received the Athletic Award, for best female athlete of the year. In 2003-2004 I received the female skater of the year award, when I skated with the Toronto Cyclones. In 2006 I participated at the Ontario Winter Games, and got the bronze medal for the Junior Women Relays. I won more medals throughout the years, but you can read about those in my Achievements page.
I also won medals for my school, for X-Country Running, Tennis, Track and Field, Basketball, Soccer, and Volleyball and many more sports. And I went to the Provincials OFSAA meet in Ottawa in May 2007 for Track and Field, for javelin and placed 10th in Ontario.
Right now I attend the National Sport School in Calgary and I am training at the Olympic Oval with the Link Program. I have my Oval Program times but have decided to remain with Link, with my amazing team mates, and coach, Abby Ennis!
